BACKGROUND: Daryl paints mostly on porcelain ceramic replica bottles which he produces himself although he does occasionally offer hand painted Jim Beam bottles as well. I have commissioned several pieces from him all done on Jim Beam bottles including his version of the Blue Djinn bottle. Daryl has spent endless hours refining his design work and creating new techniques and effects for painting Jeannie’s bottle. I particularly love his Mirage bottle pictured to the right as well as his one of kind custom Jeannie homes pictured above. Click on the photos to have a more detailed look at each bottle and read the reviews. Once again I hope you enjoy my collection and Daryl’s fascinating creations! UPDATE: The ceramic bottles I purchased from Daryl in 2001 have all begun to peel. According to Daryl this is a problem with the glaze on the ceramic and he no longer glazes the bottles. Additionally Daryl would like readers of these reviews to know that in seven years of painting Jeannie’s bottle he has learned a great deal and improved on both his execution and quality. I will post photos of the bottles once I retrieve them from storage. I take Daryl at his word that he has corrected the problems that gave rise to the issues I have faced with some of his bottles. Daryl has also offered to repair and or replace the deteriorated bottles which counts greatly to his credit. |
