BOTTLE: I think this is Daryl’s finest bottle but he doesn’t make it very often. The designs are those of the second season Jeannie bottle painted over a ‘mirage” base coat. The base coat is a special combination of primer paint and glass that causes the color of the base paint to shift or change colors at different angles and in different lighting. This particular bottle appears a green blue color with deep purple tones but can change from solid green all the way to solid purple at the right angle and in the right lighting. You will notice from the photos that the bottom part of the bottle appears more purple while the area with the arches appears more green and towards the stopper the base paint appears blue to almost black. Daryl’s design work is impeccable on this bottle and it is one of my most favorite bottles in my collection. UPDATE: This bottle is still Daryl’s crowning achievement. The bottle is not showing any signs of deterioration and the mirage base coat is among the most attractive and captivating color variations. |
