First Season

BOTTLE:
Like everything that Dan does this bottle is a true original. Unlike every other first season bottle Dan paints the base of his first season bottle a translucent matte black that gives the bottle a black frosted look. Although this is not in keeping with the original prop bottles the effect sets off the design work beautifully bring the richness of the gold out in greater contrast. I like the yellow god of his paint choice it is rich without being brassy. The curved design of the vines and the smaller leaves in comparison to some of the props used in the series give this bottle an elegant refinement that is most appealing. The other first season bottle I have that was tampered with is very similar but the over painting of the design work on that bottle gave it a more aged look. This bottle has been on constant display in my home and garners incredible attention together with the others in my Dan Moyer collection. This is a first rate and attractively unique bottle in every way.

I have a treat to add to this which is a tiny replica of the first season carved and paint by Dan which is a prototype of a similar bottle that he gave to Barbara Eden which to this day is right next to her original prop bottle in her home office.

PROS:
Unique base paint unlike any other first season bottle with delicate and detailed design work.

CONS:
Not an exact replica but very evocative of what the first season bottle could and should have been.
