Actress Barbara Eden will be the celebrity guest on March 7, 2010 for the What a Night! Gala celebration of the Oscars at the Inn at Spanish Bay.

Eden is best known for her Golden Globe-nominated role as Jeannie in the I Dream of Jeannie TV series and her roles in 15 films.

The gala will benefit the American Red Cross, Monterey Bay Area Chapter and the Monterey County Film Commission.

Over 1400 guests of honor today celebrated with an enthusiastic and prolonged standing ovation at the premiere of Dance of the Vampires at the Palladium Theater in Stuttgart. Almost ten years after the Germany premiere of Dance of the Vampires March 31, 2000 returns the musical back to its first German venue.

Among the guests were many celebrities from the arts, business, sports and entertainment: "The whole musical is so great! I am excited about the actors, the costumes, just everything, "said TV presenter Frank Elstner. Cast Dietz-Werner Steck even demanded: "I call all of Stuttgart! Everyone should come and be watching! It is so sensationally good. "J.R. Ewing Actor Larry Hagman was equally enthusiastic: "The musical is wonderful! I had a unique evening in Stuttgart, with great music and great voices. Above all, I liked the humor of the musical. "For vampire lovers and singer Marc Terenzi Actor January Ammann was the highlight:" Jan is simply breathtaking. He is the perfect actor for the role of the Count. I am very impressed "with his ex-girlfriend Gina-Lisa Lohfink I enjoyed the opening night at the Palladium Theater:" I like vampires! Bewitched To Air On TV Land March 1st - No News of Jeannie

It came to my attention today that TV Land will begin airing "Bewitched" starting next month, March 1. There is a "classic shows" listing on the TV Land website with "Bewitched" already listed on it but there is NO mention anywhere on the site of "I Dream of Jeannie." I implore the members of this site to form a petition to send to TV Land as well as going on their website to send emails and make phone calls to the programming department . Let's put Jeannie back where she belongs - on TV Land!

Love Letters Play Starring Barbara Eden April 17

It's time to work on your 2010 calender which should include attendance at the A. R. Gurney play, Lover Letters starring Barbara Eden and Hal Linden.

Barbara Eden will star opposite Hal Linden in this two person romantic drama which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. Barbara Eden is the beloved genie from I Dream of Jeannie and an American pop icon whose amazing career touches all facets of entertainment ranging from big screen, television, event hosting, singing and live productions. Hal Linden, perhaps best known for his starring role as the title character in the TV series Barney Miller is a three time Emmy award winner and most notably a Tony award winner for his lead role in the play, Rothschilds.

The booking agency for the play, Stander and Associates is, “not ready to announce (officially) confirmed dates for Love Letters” at this time. When asked for a time frame for confirmed dates to be posted they responded, “Keep checking the Love Letters site for any possible updates.

Although theatres may announce Love Letters in their Spring 2010 calendars there remains some question as to how firm these dates may actually be. Keep in mind that there is a 60 day out clause in which either Ms. Eden or Mr. Linden may withdraw from the performance as scheduled resulting in a substitute performer or cancelation of the performance.

Barbara Eden Shines For the USO

The USO will be the beneficiary of a night of entertainment next weekend, when a host of stars come out to celebrate the organization.

The LAPD Concert Band, “C.O.P.S.” and The Bob Hope Hollywood USO at LAX, will present musical and video tributes to the seven decades of USO service at the Sabine Theatre in Beverly Hills on Sunday, February 21.

Hosted by Stacy Keach and Eva La Rue (CSI: Miami) and featuring Vegas headliner Terry Fator and his Cast of Thousands (winner of 2007 America’s Got Talent), the Gala concert will also include the First Ladies of the USO – Connie Stevens, Nancy Sinatra and Barbara Eden, as well as American Idol’s Kimberley Locke, recording artist Pat Boone, John Schneider, and many more – PLUS the amazing musicians of the Los Angeles Police Concert Band.

On February 8th 2010, Barbara Eden attended the star studded Hollywood premiere of Valentine's Day along with niece, Katherine Fugate. Never far from her iconic role of Jeannie, Barbara Eden with a blink and a nod crossed her arms and blinked that added bit of magic that only she can bring to everything she does. The crowed and paparazzi cheered her on. Also in attendance was Barbara Eden's niece, Katherine Fugate. Katherine is the creator of the hugely successful Army Wives television series.

On Saturday, January 30, 2010 Barbara Eden and a bunch of celebrities gathered at the Beverly Hills Home of Renee Taylor and Joe Bologna who hosted a luncheon and auction to benefit the remaining residents at the Motion Picture Home. Barbara Eden donated am autographed Jeannie bottle raising $1,600 for the cause.

BEVERLY HILLS - Movie and TV stars responded to a call for action Saturday, not on a set but at a charity auction to raise money for residents of the financially troubled Motion Picture & Television Fund nursing home in Woodland Hills.

The event billed as an "emergency fundraiser" drew about 200 celebrities and Hollywood memorabilia-seekers to the tree-shrouded backyard of actors Joseph Bologna and Renee Taylor.

They hoped to raise $100,000 in the auction, which began with a painting by Phyllis Diller selling for $500 and a genie bottle signed by Barbara Eden going for $1,600.

In Memoriam, Sidney Sheldon

Today, January 30, 2010 marks the third anniversary of the passing of Sidney Sheldon. Not a time for tears or sorrows as we look back on a life grandly lived. Mr. Sheldon's family has asked that we celebrate his life and accomplishments more than we mourn his passing. Although it is difficult to believe that he is no longer with us, the great body of work he gave to the world remains as a fitting testament to a rich full life.

With laughter and joy we can celebrate the wit and humor that Mr. Sheldon brought to everything he undertook. For Jeannie Journal readers that focuses so much on I Dream of Jeannie and the wonderful characters he created. It is hard to characterize the vast work of a man such as Mr. Sheldon but if any attempt is made then it is to say that he featured strong and unique woman in uncommon situations. He resisted the pressures to be trite or to conform to common ideals and forged new frontiers and new insights for his characters.

Every thing he did and wrote was meant to captivate his audience, to quote Mr. Sheldon...
