Bill Daily was heard on his normal Thursday morning stint on the Albuquerque radio station. This is just seven days after the rumor circulated around the Chiller Theatre event, that Bill had had a stroke "last night" (which would have been May 1st). Being a state licensed EMT, I find it difficult that he recovered from something as severe as a stroke in a lightening fast seven days enough to feel up to appearing at his weekly radio program he guests on. Obviously there's a problem somewhere. That is why I was very clear and said in my original post that "I do not have facts". I am listening to Bill live via the the internet now and he sounds quite energetic and good quality. Draw your own conclusions friends...... Nancy

Even in grade school, Bill Daily was stealing from the masters.
"I flunked second grade, I swear to God, because I was doing Harry Ritz the whole year," said the comic actor.
Daily — remembered as swinging astronaut Roger Healey on the '60s sitcom classic "I Dream of Jeannie" — is set to appear at the Chiller Theatre expo in Parsippany today through Sunday.
Daily based his comic persona on Ritz, Bob Hope and Sid Caesar. He says that on "I Dream of Jeannie," he was playing Hope to Larry Hagman's Bing Crosby.
"(Lou) Costello stole from Harry Ritz, the "You-you-you,' " Daily pointed out. "You just steal from all of these people, and then you kind of fall into your own thing."
When asked about his "Jeannie" star Barbara Eden, Daily contrasted her with Suzanne Pleshette — female lead of another TV classic he played in, the '70s sitcom "The Bob Newhart Show."
"Unlike Suzanne, Barbara was very quiet," Daily said. "She went from a 10 to about a three. She was so serious. What she did was great. Without her, the show wouldn't have gone on, because I was crazy, Larry was a nightmare. We're all crazy. What was so great about her — she'd let us do our thing.

One of the other guests told me was was not in attendance because he had a STROKE "last night" (May 1). That he was NOT (in a hospital) in NJ - he had not yet departed to travel to the convention. FOR LIABILITY PURPOSES - I DO NOT HAVE ANY FACTS. I can say what a person (on the celebrity guest list) told me. I can in NO WAY confirm that it is true, but I happen to believe it based on the source. I have no idea on Bill's location, but persons may wish to send get well cards to the radio station in New Mexico that he sometimes guests on - perhaps they will forward them to Bill and wish him a speedy recovery."

I DREAM OF JEANNIE THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON

Barbara Eden (TV's "Harper Valley PTA") in her career-defining role as Jeannie and Larry Hagman (TV's "Dallas") as the hapless Major Tony Nelson star as the adorable mismatched couple, back for one last season of adventures. Their viable chemistry and deft comic timing was made even more successful by the series' talented regulars Bill Daily (TV's "The Bob Newhart Show") as Tony's best friend and secret-keeper Major Roger Healey, Hayden Rorke (The Unsinkable Molly Brown) as nosey Dr. Bellows, and Emmaline Henry (Rosemary's Baby) as his wife, Amanda Bellows.
Fifth season high jinks include Jeannie having to make a choice between being Tony's wife or being the queen of a country, with many of the episodes revolving around wedding arrangements and the big event itself. Viewers have a front row seat to Tony's (Hagman) reluctant participation in a bachelor party, the confusion and avoidance of wedding pictures, since genies don't show up in pictures, and the last-ditch attempt of Jeannie's sister to break up the happy couple by posing as Jeannie and pretending to have an affair. Guest stars appearing during this season include Farrah Fawcett (TV's "Charlies Angels") and Jackie Coogan (The Kid).

It was little more than a month ago that I was pleased to announce a new milestone with GersonK our 900th and before that DitchWaterSal our 800th, Manny our 700th, Minerva our 600th, NealBrandon79 our 500th and NealLarsPeterman our 400th Resident Djinn and now here we are again welcoming izquierda!
Everyday I appreciate what a vibrant and interesting community the Jeannie Journal is as a result of all the fans of I Dream of Jeannie that have chosen to make this their destination, their oasis, their playground on the world wide web! As a fan of I Dream of Jeannie I could have searched the web for the rest of my life and never have met the wonderful people I have met, or seen the photos and videos both old and new that I have seen or learned the tid bits and trivia or the truly intriguing that I have learned as a result of the Jeannie Journal.
The popularity and success of the Jeannie Journal is no surprise when one considers the multitude of dead and unsavory fansites across the world wide web that are mere shams paying lip service to the fandom they claim. Hearing repeatedly from I Dream of Jeannie fans how truly appreciative they are that the Jeannie Journal maintains its focus on all things I Dream of Jeannie and the wonderful stars that created such television magic is a brilliant reminder of what fanship is all about. The phenomenal success of the Jeannie Journal is response enough to those sites that exist only to sell shoddy memorabilia or spread misinformation.

Congratulations to all the Resident Djinn on this second anniversary of the public opening of the Jeannie Journal. The true architects of the Jeannie Journal are each and every I Dream of Jeannie fan who has taken up residency, as of this writing 986, and who visit each day to read the latest news and check the bLink Links which averages around 1500. The Journal is not something anyone person may lay claim to but rather the communal efforts of a cast of Djinn who have shared selflessly their love of I Dream of Jeannie and the outstanding cast & crew of I Dream of Jeannie, Barbara Eden, Larry Hagman, Bill Daily, Hayden Rorke and Sidney Sheldon. Last year on the first anniversary I wanted to represent all the marvelous people that have helped to make the Jeannie Journal all that it is so I included a cross section of people's avatars in the masthead. In updating the Jeannie Journal for this second anniversary I was happy to see all the updated avatars and the same wonderful people. Of course I apologize that I was unable to include everyone's avatars but I am working on it!
When I secured the domain name jeanniejournal.com in 2002 I had only the vaguest ideas of creating an I Dream of Jeannie fan tribute with news at its core. Today the Journal has become and is in the process of becoming so much more for all fans of goodwill. So here is to the year just passed and the years to come! Celebrate all things I Dream of Jeannie and best wishes to one and all!!! BLINK
