TVShowsonDVD.com is reporting that the Seventh and Final Season of Sabrina the Teenage Witch featuring Barbara Eden's last appearance as Sabrina's Great Aunt Irma, the evil matriarch of the Spellman clan, will be released on DVD July 27, 2010, a mere four months after the Sixth Season release which featured two episodes with Barbara.
Aunt Irma pops in during the episode titled "A Fish Tale" fuming because Sabrina is going to marry a mortal and so Aunt Irma turns him into a fish!
According to News Blaze, CreateSpace (an Amazon.com company) has an agreement with Universal Studios Home Entertainment to release rare movies from their vault as part of their "Universal Vault Series" using DVD on demand technology. One of those movies is the 1964 movie The Brass Bottle starring Burl Ives, Tony Curtis and, of course, our beautiful Barbara Eden! This movie is about a man who finds a big burly genie in a brass bottle and the wackiness that ensues. BE plays Tony Curtis' girlfriend. The movie is considered the inspiration for IDOJ.
It is only available on Amazon.com and has a list price of $15.99. Keep in mind it is a DVD-R disc and may not play in all players.
According to TV Shows on DVD.com the Sixth Season of Sabrina the Teenage Witch is arriving on DVD on March 23, 2010.
This season includes two appearances by Barbara Eden as Sabrina's evil Aunt Irma in Episode 9: "A Birthday Witch" and Episode 14: "The Arrangement". BE will make one more appearance as Aunt Irma in Season 7, yet to be announced.
TVShowsonDVD.com is reporting that Sony will release a one disc collection of I Dream of Jeannie Fan Favorites on September 29, 2009 at a suggested retail price of $14.95. The disc will contain seven episodes from the Fifth Season including the infamous "The Wedding" episode which many consider to be the point where IDOJ jumped the shark. The observant fan will note that these seven episodes are what the second disc from the Complete Fifth Season DVD collection is comprised of.
Having already purchased all 5 seasons of I Dream of Jeannie, I was curious to see how Sony was going to lure audiences to buy the complete series. The packaging is a novel idea with the DVDs enclosed in a paper 'Jeannie' bottle complete with cork.
The set also includes 55 trading cards with facts about the show and descriptions of all 139 episodes. Many of the card images have not been seen before including those of Jeannie's dark-haired evil sister (also named Jeannie). The packaging features artwork used in the animated opening sequences of the series.
Sony chose to use the colorized episodes from the first season in this DVD set. While the colorization is good I would rather have the more accurate representation of the first year which aired during the 1965-66 season on NBC. I Dream of Jeannie was actually the last series to be aired in black and white on network television.

IDOJ DVD: REVIEW: The Complete Series Collectors Set DVD
Tis the season for studios and distributors to begin sending us lists of products, hoping I'll craft an article telling all of you what to buy for those hard-to-figure relatives and friends. But there are SO many product lists coming our way this year that I don't think I'm going to be so presumptuous. I will, however, let you know when a boxed set comes along that seems obviously designed for gift giving.
Such is the case with "I Dream of Jeannie: The Complete Series," which comes not in conventional packaging but in an elaborately decorated cardboard "bottle" that's a replica of the 1964 Jim Beam decanter that inspired the show's most famous prop. It's designed to be displayed on a countertop, table, or shelf. The kind of cardboard affair you'd see at point-of-purchase displays, it's 11 1/2" tall, 5 1/2" across at the widest spot, and 2 1/2" deep. The bottle has a hollowed-out bottom that holds an accordion-style round expandable file that contains all 139 episodes on 20 discs. A cardboard decorative stopper is included, along with a matching separate box that holds 55 roughly 3x4" full-color trivia cards with photo illustration and trivia snippet on one side and a description of three episodes on the flipside. More on those in the "Extras" section.
Sony released Season 1 in two versions, the original black-and-white and colorized. Purists who desperately want this collectible bottle should know that it contains the color version. Though some Internet rumors have this set including a much-later "return to" TV movie, that's not the case. The content is the same as on all five individual seasons. The discs have new labels on them numbered to 20, but the menu screens and options are the same as on previous releases. Missing, though, is any sort of list of episodes, their airdates, and brief summaries, which were included in all of the previous single-season sets. That's a pretty big oversight, and, some might say, a pretty big price to pay for a cool-looking bottle that pretty much has to be permanently displayed somewhere rather than shelved with your other DVDs.

With less than one week to go for the release of I Dream of Jeannie the Complete Series Boxed Collector's Edition don't let the steep MSRP $174.95 be a stumbling block there are many deals out there and if you are willing to wait prices may come down even more. Some retailers are offering specials if you buy on the release day, Tuesday, November 11, 2008.
Although lacking additional features such as new commentary by the cast, behind the scenes video, the original black and white first season (only the colorized first season is included) or even new navigation menus the boxed set does feature a cardboard foil covered replica Jeannie bottle and a deck of trivia cards with photographs all packaged up in a clear plastic box attractively printed with smoke and dancing Jeannie cartoon character.
As stated the MSRP is $174.95 but click READ MORE to check discounted availability with prices as low as $100.00.

IDOJ DVD: Quark DVD Includes Mini-Episodes of IDOJ
"Quark," the complete series Buck Henry created this science-fiction spoof, but it lasted only eight episodes in 1978 before NBC deservedly pulled the plug. Richard Benjamin stars as Adam Quark, captain of a garbage-collecting spaceship. Poor acting and cheap production values contributed to the sitcom's downfall. One disc, 222 minutes. DVD extras: bonus mini-episodes of "I Dream of Jeannie" and "Fantasy Island." From Sony.
On sale Tuesday, Oct. 14.
